WHAT IS ONE
STUDENT CHAPTER
AND WHY CREATE ONE?
During the trajectory of the AIChE, several student chapters (teams that represent the institution) were created within several universities around the world. These chapters are intended to promote networking in both academia and industry.
As a member, you can access information on recognized and promising chemical engineering processes and methods. As well as courses, articles, books, and connections to a global network of knowledge among colleagues. In addition, there is also the possibility of personal, academic, and professional growth. Also, participation in extracurricular projects (social, environmental, educational, among others), organization of events, and competitions between chapters.
Our goals
In addition to discussing various issues relevant to the future of chemical engineering in the world, developing work with the academic, professional, and community environment, carrying out activities and projects of an educational, social, and professional nature, such as community services, social meetings, educational events, lectures, visits techniques or any initiative that brings benefits to its members, of regional or even international scope. We seek to promote activities that help the professional and personal development of engineering students, create opportunities to make contacts, learn together and share their knowledge.

Chapter Advisor
President 2022 - 2023
To create a student chapter it is necessary to choose a "chapter advisor". His primary responsibility is to provide guidance and support when needed. Must be a reputable member of the AIChE and promote students' enthusiasm for the field of chemical engineering, attend chapter meetings, and share information about AIChE programs. Encourage overall student involvement.
The advisor of the AIChE FEI is Professor Ricardo Belchior Torres, current coordinator of the chemical engineering course at FEI and active member of the AIChE.
To maintain the project, a president is needed, who is responsible for taking the lead and leading the AIChE FEI student chapter, making decisions and organizing the team in the best way.
In the 2022-2023 term, the president is student Mariana Pontes Vieira, a chemical engineering student, in the 7th semester at FEI.
